Uploading Past Exams
Uploading past exams from your course helps acemate create practice tests that match your instructor's style, format, and difficulty level. The more past exams you upload, the more accurate your practice tests become.

How to Upload Past Exams
Step 1: Prepare Your Exam Files
Make sure exams are in PDF format
If you have multiple exams, you can upload them all
Include solutions if available (helps acemate understand correct answers)
Step 2: Access the Upload Dialog
Go to Library in your course sidebar
Click "Upload" button
Or use the quick upload from the Exams section
Step 3: Select Extraction Method
Choose Basic Extraction for text-only exams
Choose Advanced Extraction (Pro only) if exams contain images, diagrams, or complex layouts

Step 4: Upload the Exam
Drag and drop the exam PDF into the upload area
Or click "browse files" to select from your computer
Wait for the upload to complete
Step 5: Wait for Processing
acemate processes the exam to extract questions, answers, and structure
Processing usually takes 2-5 minutes depending on exam length
You'll see a "Ready" status when processing is complete
Privacy Note:
Only upload exams you're allowed to share
Respect your university's policies
Don't upload exams that are still in use for current courses
After Uploading
Once your exam is processed:
It appears in your Library under "Exams"
acemate uses it to generate better practice tests
You can reference it when studying
It becomes part of your course knowledge base
Troubleshooting
If Processing Fails:
Check that the file is a valid PDF
Ensure the file isn't password-protected
Try re-uploading the file
Contact support if problems persist (see Getting Help)
If Questions Aren't Extracted Properly:
The exam might have an unusual format
Try using Advanced Extraction if you have Pro
