Working with Documents in Workspace
Studying Documents and Using Text Actions
The Document panel is where you view your PDFs and slides. acemate provides a powerful "Floating Toolbar" that appears whenever you select text, allowing you to act on information instantly.
Opening Documents
Click the Lectures tab to open the file picker.
Select your file (e.g., "Test file 01").
You can switch between open files using the tabs at the top of the Lecture panel.
The Floating Toolbar (Text Actions)
Summarize: Generates a quick summary of the selected text.
Practice: Creates a practice question based on the selection.
Create Cards: Instantly opens the Flashcard panel with the selected text pre-filled.
Chat: Sends the text to the AI Tutor to ask specific questions.
Podcast: Converts the selected text into audio.
Graph: View your performance from past exams.
Highlighting in Lectures (PDFs/Slides)
When you select text in a lecture slide or PDF, a floating menu appears with tools for consumption and capture:
Explain with AI: Instantly sends the selected text to the AI Chat for a detailed explanation.
Create Flashcard: Opens the Flashcard panel with the selected text pre-filled as the "Front" of the card.
Copy: Copy the text to your clipboard.
2. Highlighting in Notes (Editor Mode) When you select text inside your personal Notes panel, the floating menu expands to include formatting and writing tools:
Formatting: Bold (B), Italic (I), Headings (H1/H2), Quote, Code block, and Text Color.
AI Actions: Just like in lectures, you also get quick buttons to:
Explain with AI: Ask the AI to expand on what you just wrote.
Create Flashcard: Turn your notes into a quiz instantly.
