Navigating with Quick Search (Cmd + K)

The Quick Navigator is the fastest way to switch between files, decks, and tools without clicking through menus.

Quick Navigation (Cmd + K)

  1. Open the Navigator: Press Cmd + K (Mac) or Ctrl + K (Windows) on your keyboard. Alternatively, click the Search/Compass icon in the sidebar if available.

  2. Search & Switch: Type the name of the file, folder, or deck you need.

  3. Direct Actions: The menu often presents quick actions depending on your context, such as:

    • Open a Lecture: Quickly jump to "Test File 01" or "Biology 101".

    • Create New: Options like "Empty deck", "Deck from lecture", or "New chat".

    • Upload: Direct link to "Upload file".'

Why use quick search?
Instead of manually closing a panel and browsing folders to find a new lecture, Cmd+K lets you instantly swap the content of your active panel.

Opening and Closing Panels

  • Use the tabs at the top of the screen (Lectures, Notes, Flashcards, AI Chat) to toggle panels.

  • The 3-Panel Limit: The Workspace supports a maximum of 3 active panels at once. If you try to open a fourth (e.g., opening Flashcards while Lectures, Notes, and Chat are open), the system will automatically close one of the existing panels (usually the right-most one) to make room.

Resizing Panels

  • Hover over the vertical border between any two panels.

  • When the resize handle appears, drag left or right to adjust the width.

  • Tip: During heavy reading, drag the Document panel wider. During revision, make the Notes panel the focus.
