How to Start and Manage Chat Sessions

You can start a fresh conversation for a new topic or revisit old study sessions at any time.

Starting a new chat

  1. Navigate to AI Chat: Click on the AI Chat icon in the sidebar or use the Start Chat button under "Quick actions" on your dashboard.

  2. Choose a Starting Point:

    • Type a custom question: Use the text bar at the bottom to ask something specific.

    • Use a Suggestion Chip: Click one of the pre-set options above the text bar, such as "Explain the topic..." or "Test me on..." to get started instantly.

  3. Select Your Context:

    • Before the AI answers, you may be prompted to select which documents it should use.

    • Check the boxes for specific files (e.g., "Test File 02") or select the entire folder (e.g., "Select all lectures").

Managing Chat History

  • Open Chat History: Click the Open chat button (folder icon) near the upload actions to see a list of your previous conversations.

  • Resume a Session: Click on any past chat (labeled by date and topic, e.g., "January 2026 - Logit Masking...") to see previous answers and continue the conversation.
