Podcast Tips and Best Practices
Study Strategies for Audio Learning
Listening is a different skill than reading. Here are some tips to get the most out of acemate Podcasts.
Active vs. Passive Listening
Passive (Commuting/Chores): Use this time for review. Listen to lectures you have already read to reinforce the memory.
Active (Sitting Down): If you are listening to new material, Open the Note in the workspace ready. Pause the audio when you hear a key term and write it down.
Speed Training
Start listening at 1.0x speed. As you get comfortable with the AI voice and the subject matter, try bumping it up to 1.25x. This trains your brain to process information faster and saves you significant study time over a semester.
The "Read-Along" Technique
For difficult subjects:
Open the original PDF in the Workspace.
Start the Podcast and minimize the player to the bottom (Sticky Player).
Read the text while listening to the audio simultaneously. This "dual-coding" approach (visual + auditory) can significantly improve retention.
